Phenolic Hydraulic seal is to guide the piston and piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder, as well as to withstand arising side loads. At the same time, it prevents any metal-to-metal contact, which will damage and score the surfaces and eventually cause seal damage, leakage and component damage. It is used extensively in mining applications.
A phenolic resin tube is a high-strength, thermosetting composite tube manufactured by impregnating layers of fibrous reinforcement-such as cellulose paper, cotton fabric, or glass cloth-with phenolic resin. The laminate is then wound or layered onto a mandrel and cured under heat and pressure. This irreversible curing process creates a rigid, cross-linked molecular structure, resulting in a finished product with exceptional dimensional stability that will not soften or melt upon reheating.
The key properties of phenolic resin tubes include excellent mechanical strength, good electrical insulation characteristics, and outstanding resistance to heat, flame, and combustion. They also exhibit strong resistance to a wide range of solvents, oils, and mild acids, making them suitable for corrosive environments.
Commonly finished to a smooth, machinable surface, these tubes are widely used in applications such as electrical insulators, bushings, bearings, low-friction wear strips, and as structural components in electrical, automotive, aerospace, and chemical processing industries where high temperature resistance and flame retardancy are critical requirements.
