Secondary functions of Bearing rings include the protection of seals from 'dieseling'.
Bearing rings are available in several different materials including Polyacetal, Fabric Reinforced Phenolic Resin, Fabric Reinforced Polyester Resin, PTFE and Glass-Fibre reinforced Polyacetal.
